Are Dirt Bike Sprockets Universal?
The simple answer is NO! Dirt bike sprockets are not universal. You must use the exact sprocket specifically made for your dirt bike brand and model.
Interestingly, it is different with chains. Chains are fairly universal.
By chains being universal, I mean that you could use an Apollo chain on a Thumpstar for example- so long it’s similar model. For example 80cc dirt bikes would share similar chain sizes.
But for sprockets, you’ve got to be more careful. A Yamaha 500cc dirt bike sprocket does not fit a Suzuki 500cc dirt bike. True, you may find some exceptions, where you can interchange sprockets accross bike brands. But that is pretty rare. And indeed, there is no point. Just order the exact sprcoket your bike needs!

Dirt Bike Sprockets Sizing?
The thickness and the distance between the teeth of either front or rear sprockets must match the size of the chain.
Please note that the front sprocket is always a lot smaller in diameter than the rear one.
Generally, most front sprockets for bikes have 14 to 18 teeth.
Th rear sprocket often stays between 34 and 50 teeth.
